Description: A developmental team in our girls club program consisting of combination HS graduation years. Players will receive accelerated coaching through our college preparatory practices designed to rapidly advance skill sets. Our unmatched training coupled with participating in the nation's leading lacrosse events, gives our athletes the platform to showcase in front of college coaches.
Tryouts: This team is formed from an open tryout in September. Tryout registration will begin in July. Players selected from this tryout will travel the following summer.
Amanda graduated from Walsh University with a triple major in Pre-Occupational Therapy, Clinical Psychology and Sociology.
Amanda played lacrosse all four years while maintaining a 3.8 GPA all four years earning her a spot in the honors OT ceremony in 2018. Amanda started playing lacrosse in third grade and eventually earned herself 4 varsity letters from Lakota West HS. Her senior year she became team captain. In order to gain exposure and explore the competence of lacrosse, Amanda joined Velocity’s first year of travel lacrosse. This travel experience and recruiting process is where Amanda met her coach from Walsh University who offered her a spot on the team in 2014. Over the four years Amanda got to explore all the positions on the field until she dominated in the attack side. She won the award for most assists in a game as well as most assists in the season.
After graduation Amanda relocated back to West Chester and started coaching for Lakota West HS as an assistant coach. This is Amanda’s 3rd year coaching in the Velocity program.She will be returning to school in August of 2020 to receive her Doctorate in Occupational-Therapy.
This is Katherine's 7th year coaching in the Velocity program.
Katherine is a 2018 graduate of Transylvania University where she was a 2-year captain for the Pioneer women's lacrosse team. She was an All-Conference Defender all 4 years with the Pioneers.
She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a Mathematics minor. While at Transy, Katherine stayed present in the Lexington lacrosse community volunteering for both LYLA (Lexington Youth Lacrosse Association) and The Lexington School Middle School girls’ lacrosse team. Katherine also served as the President of Transylvania's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee for two years and was elected to serve the entire HCAC (Heartland College Athletic Conference) as their SAAC President her senior year.
Katherine recently completed her Master’s degree in Leadership Development with an emphasis in Sports Leadership while serving in her role as a graduate assistant for the North Central College Women’s Lacrosse program in Naperville, IL.
