Graduation Year: 2027/2028
Description: A competitive team in our girls club program consisting of the 2027 and 2028 graduation year. Players will receive accelerated coaching through our high school preparatory practices designed to rapidly advance skill sets. Our unmatched training coupled with participating in the nation's leading lacrosse events, gives our athletes the opportunity to develop to their full potential while preparing them for the next level of lacrosse.
Tryouts: This team is formed from an open tryout in September. Tryout registration will begin in July under the tryout tab. Players selected from this tryout will travel the following summer. Tournament schedule will be posted by day of the tryout.
Sam DeVore is currently a senior at Ohio University working on her Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders along with a minor in Communication Studies. She will be going on to receive a master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology after she graduates in May.
DeVore’s 13-year lacrosse career started off playing for Sycamore’s middle school team, moved into playing for Indian Hill’s junior high team and then received 4 varsity letters at Mount Notre Dame High School. She currently is playing for Ohio University Women’s Club Lacrosse Team as a center and voted to be their team captain for both her junior and senior years.
Sam has really enjoyed the transition into her role as a coach for the Youth 5/6 team. This will be her second summer working with this age group for Velocity. Last summer, the 5/6 youth team ended their summer season on a very high note by coming in first place at the Pipe City tournament in Chicago.
Abbey is currently a senior at Ohio University majoring in marketing and minoring in Communications. She will be going on to work for Worthington Industries in Columbus, Ohio upon her graduation in May.
Abbey’s 12-year lacrosse career started off playing for OYAA lacrosse in elementary school, then moved to the Hyatts middle school team. Abbey then played junior varsity her freshman year of high school and received 3 varsity letters the following three years at Olentangy Liberty High School where she played midfield. Abbey then moved on to play collegiate lacrosse for the Ohio University Women’s Club Lacrosse Team as an Attack player. She was voted to be their team captain for both her junior and senior years.
