Coaches

Alex had a 12-year lacrosse career as a player and is going into his third year as a varsity lacrosse coach. He coached 2 season at Oakhills and will be at Lakota West HS for the 2019 season.

Alex played in high school at Lakota West where he played 3 years on varsity.  Alex played for the velocity program during the summer of 2012. Cook decided to attend Huntingdon College down in Montgomery, Alabama to continue to play lacrosse for a NCAA DIII school and pursue his academic aspirations.  As a freshman he started every game and played in the USA South Athletic Conference championship, where they lost in triple overtime to Ferrum College.  Alex became an All-academic team for the USA South Athletic Conference. After two years at Huntingdon College, Alex transferred to the University of Cincinnati to continue focusing on academics in biochemistry/Pre-medicine. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry with a focus in pre-medicine from the University of Cincinnati.

Coach Evan has been playing lacrosse for 11 years and counting. He is currently at Ohio University working towards a Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering Technology and Management while being involved with many Ohio University organizations.  Evan is continuing his lacrosse career as an LSM with Ohio University’s Club Lacrosse team, which has been consecutively ranked in the top 10 NCLL D1 Club Lacrosse League.

Evan started off playing lacrosse in the Lakota Lacrosse program which prepared him for a 3-year Lakota West Lacrosse varsity career.  During his summers before high school, he played on the Velocity Lacrosse teams to grow his skills and gain a competitive edge.  During his high school summers, Evan had the opportunity to play for D3 coaches on Gulf States Elites team.

The Cook boys (Coach Alex and Coach Evan) are more than excited to coach together, challenge the young players, and each other, to give the best experience possible to the young players participating with Velocity Lacrosse.
