Graduation Years:  2021 - 2022

Description: A high level recruiting team in our girls club program consisting of the 2021 - 2022 graduation years. Players will receive accelerated coaching through our college preparatory practices designed to rapidly advance skill sets. Our unmatched training coupled with participating in the nation's leading lacrosse events, gives our athletes the platform to showcase in front of college coaches.

Tryouts:  This team is formed from an open tryout in September. Tryout registration will begin in August. Players selected from this tryout will travel the following summer. For currently team availability please call 513-847-8491.

Coaches

Natalie Lang (née Starvaggi) graduated from the University of Cincinnati in June 2011 where she was a Varsity student-athlete for four years. She double majored in Marketing and Communication, was a three year team captain for the Bearcats and graduated in the top 10% of the Communication Department. Upon graduation she was inducted into Lambda Pi Eta a National Communication Honors Society.

With a passion for the game at a young age, Lang has played a major role in developing lacrosse at the youth, high school and college levels in the greater Cincinnati area.  At an early age she dedicated herself to the game and when reaching the HS level, she petitioned for her high school of Mt. Notre Dame to make lacrosse a varsity sport.

Four years later she found herself in the midst of yet another opportunity to grow the sport of lacrosse by joining the University of Cincinnati’s first ever Women’s Varsity Lacrosse Program.  The Cincinnati native has had a strong presence in the lacrosse community for over thirteen years and growing the sport is no new task for Lang.

While at the University of Cincinnati, Lang was a staple for the program since its first years. She was a forceful presence both in terms of leadership and productivity. Although Lang tore her ACL three games into her senior season she still holds records for third overall points per career (40g, 23a - 2008-10), third overall goals in a career (40g -2008-10), second overall assists per career (23 -2008-10), second overall ground balls per career (67 -2008-10) and first overall in both career games played and started.

 

Coach Lang recently finished her fourth season as Assistant Coach at her alma mater the University of Cincinnati, after spending two years as the Assistant Coach who helped start the lacrosse program at Transylvania University in Lexington, KY. She also works part time as the Marketing Director for The Etiquette Advantage, a corporation specializing in business and social etiquette.

From her past experience as a Bearcat player and as collegiate coach at both the Division I and III levels, Coach Lang will continue the success of the Velocity Lacrosse travel programs. Lang plans on expanding the game in the community, create lasting relationships and provide girls the opportunity to compete at the next level.

Kaitlin, more commonly known as KJ, joined the Velocity Coaching Staff in the summer of 2015. After graduating from St. Bonaventure in May 2015 with a major in Business Management and a minor in Marketing, Kaitlin knew she wanted to continue to be a part of the lacrosse community.

KJ started playing lacrosse in the 5th grade. From there she was a 4 year varsity starter at Lakota West, and earned many accolades throughout her High School career. Knowing she wanted to play at Division 1 at the next level, KJ played on theUnder Armour All-American Underclassmen Midwest teams through her HS career.

Choosing to go to a small school in the Atlantic 10 conference, KJ started off her college career with the Division 1 Bonnies as a defender. Eventually landing a spot on the Midfield, KJ ended her lacrosse career as one of the leading scorers on her team.

KJ has always loved playing lacrosse, and now, as a coach, she brings enthusiasm and a broad range of lacrosse knowledge & experience to the sidelines.
